Bodrum is one of the most popular yachting destinations in Turkey. The peninsula is surrounded by clear water and dozens of small bays that are hard or impossible to reach by road, and a private boat lets you visit them at your own pace instead of on a crowded group tour.
Bodrum is also the home of the gulet, the traditional wooden boat of the Turkish coast, so you will find everything here from classic gulets to modern motor yachts, catamarans and fast day boats.
For a day trip, a motorboat, RIB or small yacht is the easiest choice: you can leave in the morning, stop at several swimming spots and be back for dinner in town.
For a longer holiday, a crewed gulet or motor yacht with cabins lets you sleep on board and explore the Gulf of Gökova, the Datça peninsula or nearby Greek islands such as Kos. Catamarans offer lots of space and stability, which makes them popular with families.
Close to Bodrum town, Kara Ada (Black Island) is known for its warm-water cave, and Orak Island for its very clear turquoise water. Along the peninsula, the harbour villages of Gümüşlük, Yalıkavak and Türkbükü are perfect for lunch or a sunset stop.
On a multi-day trip, many boats head south-east into the Gulf of Gökova, with its quiet coves and Cleopatra Island, famous for its golden sand.
Most boats in Bodrum are rented with a skipper or a full crew, so you do not need a licence. If you want to skipper a boat yourself, you will need a recognised boating licence, and the owner will tell you which documents are accepted. Every listing shows whether a licence is required.
Prices depend on the type and size of the boat, the season and how long you rent it. A small day boat costs far less than a crewed gulet or motor yacht. Each listing on Blauereise shows the price for your dates.
Yes. Many owners offer day rentals and private day trips. Look for boats with daily or hourly prices, or browse our daily boat experiences.
Boats leave from Bodrum Marina in the town centre and from marinas around the peninsula such as Yalıkavak and Turgutreis. The departure port is shown on every boat page.
The season runs from May to October. July and August are hottest and busiest; June and September offer warm water with fewer boats in the bays.
It depends on the boat. Some prices include fuel, others charge it separately based on use. The inclusions and exclusions are listed on each boat page.
